The Center for Homeland Security’s Mission is to support the needs of our clients through the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary, innovative homeland security and emergency preparedness solutions. The Center for Homeland Security also aims to leverage the applied research, education, training, and community outreach efforts of the University to enhance homeland security and emergency preparedness/disaster management.

In the context of an increasingly volatile, competitive and global business climate,
these seminars will provide executives with an opportunity to gain invaluable insight from
leading homeland security experts.

- Distinguished Speaker Series
Towson University is proud to announce the establishment of the
Edward V. Badolato Distinguished Speaker Series in Homeland Security.
Endowed by Colonel Edward V. Badolato, USMC (Ret.), the speaker series will bring to campus
distinguished leaders in the field of Homeland Security to share their perspective on what needs to
be done to combat terrorism and make our nation safer.

- Town Hall Debate on National Security
Towson Speech and Debate Team held an event on September 19, 2007 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm in the Susquehanna Terrace of the University Union. David Biglari, President of the TU Speech and Debate Team hosted.
- Port Security Conference
The CHS Director moderated one of five panel discussions at this year’s United States Naval Institute (USNI) Port Security Conference. The topic for this panel, “After Attack: How Do We Restore Maritime Commerce?” ended the conference designed to increase awareness of the need for continuing vigilance to secure our nation’s ports.
